A Short History of England and the British Isles

This is a concise account of the history of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales from the earliest times to 1997. As I have taught most periods of British history at some time or other I have collected a good deal of information and research notes and, as the result of close questioning from generations of pupils, I have come to conclusions which have enabled me to write this short account.

It has been published in A4 typed format in a ring binder and, if purchased from the publishers, carries the right to be photocopied at will. It is aimed at students and general readers who need to gain a grasp of the essential background before turning to more detailed research.
